Are you skiing SDH or S1 ?
I used one of these one year skiing S1: http://www.masterlineusa.com/Shop-By- ... s/Deluxe-3-Event-Roller96 It was pretty good. It held a couple of pair of skis and a a lot of gear. The only problem was the weight. 1st of all, the bag itself weighs a bit. And further, the bag is pretty big so it can get pretty damn heavy if you don't pack carefully. It was only an issue when flying with airline baggage weight restrictions. And the durability could have been better - it's made for water skis, much lighter than Speed Skis... I've always wondered about fabricating/modifying a Sportube...
